The hotel is no longer a hotel as it is now Embassy Senior Living. There was major construction going on throughout the place. The lobby and surrounding rooms were torn down to the walls. There was no air conditioning (and it was sweltering hot). There was only part time maid service as they left by 11:00 a.m. There was no room service. Their heated pool was filthy with stagnant green water sitting in it. I took photos of everything as proof of all this. The whole outside building had scaffolding around it and construction materials and workers were everywhere. You couldn't sleep in as the workers started at 7:00 a.m. It was an absolutely horrific experience and quite frankly I do not understand how they are still operating as a "hotel".

Close to Carleton University where our daughter was staying . We had a kitchenette so we could save on expenses by having our breakfast in our room.
The air conditioning was not working, bedding was not changed daily and under major renovations at the time.

Great for a business trip, had eveything i needed, and the food quality at the restaurant was especially good. Overall, for the money, you can't beat it. Great proximity to major highways in the Ottawa area.
Well, there was a huge renovation going on in the lobby, but it didn't affect anything that i needed, so aside from the aesthetics, the renovation was pretty unnoticeable.

We registered at the hotel because of its location; however, with the renovations going on, it should not have been let out. Especially the room where I was - it had absolutely no air movement in the room and it was so stifling, we could not sleep; hence, our move out after only 1 night.

I felt safe--I liked the fact that you room key had to be programmed to operate the elevator.
I was surprised that the hotel was in transition--changing to a retirement home.

Was not aware it was an old age home/retirement living, the website should clearly state that, I would not have stayed there if that was known prior to check in

Location and price was the most important for us to be close to family.

The room was fine and the bed very comfortable. Due to ongoing building work the rest of the hotel was rubbish - very much a building site.
Building work make a return visit very unlikely - no facilities available, not very welcoming.
